ICSB 2008 World Conference was attended by Diana Thompson and Garry Homer in June 2008.

diana thompsonThe Conference took place at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  The theme of the Conference was “Advancing Small Business and Entrepreneurship: from Research Results”.  They were asked to present a paper entitled “An Experience of Cultivating e-Innovation  –  The Role of ICT in a Business Incubation Project”.    The paper was based on research carried out at the e-Innovation Centre and examined the role of the high level IT support provided and the impact this has on the “bottom line” of Companies in the Centre.

The conclusion was that high level IT support can be deemed to be a real differentiator compared to standard facilities at comparable Science Parks.  The paper was well received by an audience from all over the world.

diana-and-garryDiana and Garry attended some very informative Key Note presentations and also presentations from West Midlands colleagues from Coventry University.  It was an excellent networking opportunity and puts e-Innovation Centre on the World map.
