Round Software Take On KEEN Graduate

Tenants at the Business and Technology Centre and formally EIC, Round Software, have recently taken on a University of Wolverhampton graduate via the Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise Network (KEEN). This is a graduate recruitment programme designed to give bright and talented graduates a platform to launch their careers, while gaining valuable business skills.

The software development firm have been located on the Telford campus for seven years and started with only one person. They have grown steadily in the intervening years and have now reached a level where they can offer this fantastic opportunity to graduate Eishpal Mattu.

Owner and founder of Round Software, Joe Hormenoo said: “We are always looking for talented people that can offer us fresh ideas and bring something new to the company. We are really pleased to have taken on Eishpal, and the academic support that has come with collaborating with the University and KEEN is a real bonus.”

Eishpal said: “I have been supported all the way through and provided with opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge. I have gained a better understanding of system analysis which in turn has helped me become a better software developer. Shropshire Chamber Business Awards 2019

Nominations for the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards are now open!

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce once again presenting the best of Shropshire’s businesses in the 19th year of the ceremony taking place on 14th June.  It is guaranteed to be a fabulous event, with great food, entertainment and a special guest speaker.

The awards are open to all businesses in Shropshire – any size, any type of business, start-ups and of course, previous winners! You don’t need to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce or any other organisation. There are 17 awards this year, so why not give it a go? Winning can be a real boost for you, your employees and your business.

There are seventeen awards in all, aiming to highlight the great work done by Shropshire businesses, and certainly many that will apply to the great companies that reside at the e-Innovation Centre.

Goodbye to Kensa!

A fond goodbye from all at EIC to Kensa Creative, who have been tenants in the building for many years but have now grown so much that they have acquired their own premises. The successful design marketing agency are staying in Telford and are sure to go on to bigger and better things.

Scanning Pens Receive Visit from MP

Lucy Allan, the Member of Parliament for Telford, recently paid a visit to Scanning Pens Ltd who are tenants at EIC’s sister building the Busness and Technology Centre. The MP was there to meet staff and discover more about their range of assistive technology devices.

Scanning Pens is the global distributor for the C-Pen. The C-Pen ReaderPen, ExamReader and DictionaryPen’s are pocket-sized devices that read text out loud aiming to promote independent reading and learning.

As a leading Assistive Technology supplier, they combine their expert knowledge with years of experience in the dyslexia field to develop solutions for many educational institutions helping students with reading difficulties such as dyslexia, visual impairment, physical disabilities and much more.

Lucy Allan, a member of the Education Select Committee said: “I was so pleased to visit Scanning Pens and listen to how the pens have supported and transformed many young people who face daily reading challenges. Too many people struggle with literacy problems throughout their lives and this is a fantastic tool to enable them to overcome these difficulties.”
